The bodies of the two women were found in the Abdullah Kalah area of Gardez, the capital of Paktia province, after being shot dead by unknown individuals last night, sources said. Khaliqyar Ahmadzai, the Taliban’s director of information and culture for Paktia province, told the media that the women were originally from Kabul’s Shukar Dara district. An investigation has been launched into the murder. Meanwhile, some sources told the media that the women were former Afghan National Army (ANA) officers and ANA cards were found along with their bodies.
