A source in former President Hamid Karzai’s office told HewadPress over the phone that the Taliban’s acting foreign ministry had not responded to an official travel request from former President Hamid Karzai’s office to the UAE.
According to the source, former Afghan President Hamid Karzai had intended to attend the funeral of the President of the United Arab Emirates and Emir of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and were made all necessary arrangements for the travel but the trip was canceled due to no travel authorization response from the Taliban’s foreign ministry.
Although Taliban officials sources have not yet commented on the matter but a Taliban source told media that they had shared the details of Karzai’s travel with his chief minister, Maulvi Mohammad Hassan Akhund and so far no decision has been made on this.
