The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Mohammad bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, has said in his recent comments that Qatar is against the irrational restriction over Afghan women by the Taliban government in Afghanistan. He added that we are in close contact with Taliban government and asked them for the rationality of these restriction over Afghan woman.
Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said in an interview with CNBC media on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland that “Qatar stands with Afghan women because they are being treated irrationally by the Taliban-led administration”.
In this interview, Thani said that we are in contact with the Taliban government and we have requested them to clarify their logic regarding the strict restrictions against Afghan women. Because we believe that these restrictions are neither religious nor cultural.
