The DPO of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, Muhammad Imran, said in a press briefing “late sunset today, terrorists attacked the Takhtabag police post in Jamrud Tehsil of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from several sides. There was also a suicide bomber among the attackers. The security forces very rapidly killed the suicide bomber. However, two of our policemen and a chef were martyred and three other policemen were injured in the armed clash. Now our forces have started a search operation for those fled the scene”. The interim Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa state, Mahmood Khan has condemned the attack and has asked the state police chief for the details report of the attack.
Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan immediately took responsibility for the attack and claimed that number of police killed and injured in the attack.
