A source told Hewadpress on the condition of anonymity, that so far the death toll of the attack has reached 42 people and around 150 others have been injured. In the explosion, the roof of the mosque collapsed and many people fell under it. Peshawar Police Chief Mohammad Ijaz Khan also confirmed the attack to the media. He added that dozen’s people were killed/injured in the attack. Most of the victims are Peshawar police members. Imam of the Masjed is also among the victims. After the attack, in a short message sent to media, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) took the responsibility for the attack and added that it was in revenge for their killed member Khalid Omar.
