Bushra Bibi, the wife of Imran Khan, leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, stated in her latest remarks that Imran Khan was imprisoned for defending religious values and following the ideology of true freedom. She said:
“When Imran Khan first visited Saudi holy Madina Munawwara barefoot and returned, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the then-Chief of Army Staff, received calls from abroad. These calls questioned why such a person was brought to power. They stated, ‘We do not want the Sharia system in Pakistan, and you have brought a supporter of Sharia to power. This is unacceptable to us.’”
Bushra Bibi further added:
“After these events, baseless propaganda against Imran Khan and me began in the media, including accusations that Imran Khan is an agent of Jews.”
To support her claims, she said:
“If you do not believe me, ask Bajwa and his family, as they had shared these conversations with someone, and that person relayed this information to Khan.”
Bushra Bibi’s statements have sparked heated debates in Pakistan, prompting a strong reaction from the federal government. In its response, the government stated:
“We will take strict action against any negative remarks about Saudi Arabia”
