Two informed sources from the UN told media outlets that the assessment of the credentials of the Taliban’s representative for Afghanistan’s seat has been postponed. The decision has been made to discuss the matter during the 77th session of the UN.
It is worth to mention that since the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan, this marks the fourth year that their request to assume the seat has been rejected. The seat remains under the representation of Nasir Ahmad Faiq, who served during the Republic era.
