Sabrina Saqeb, a former member of the Afghan parliament, speaking at the Halifax Security Forum in Canada, stated that the Taliban are brainwashing young children in schools and training them for future terrorism. She cautioned that this practice could pose a significant threat to global security in the future.
Ms. Saqeb also strongly condemned the Taliban’s “Amr Bil Maroof Wa Nahi Anil Munkar” (Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice) law, which labels women’s voices as “awrat” (immodest) and forces them to silence their voices and cover their faces.
During the forum, Sabrina Saqeb performed the famous song “Manam, Man Zanam, Man Jahanam” (I am, I am a woman, I am the world) by Ghoga Taban, which was met with a standing ovation and support from the participants.
