Mike Waltz, the U.S. National Security Advisor in the incoming administration of President Donald Trump, issued a stern warning in his recent statement that anyone who illegally detains or kidnaps Americans will face severe repercussions. Waltz, who has experience in direct combat with the Taliban in Afghanistan, pointed out that “any country or terrorist group that illegally detains or kidnaps an American citizen will face severe consequences, and may even be shot at.”
It is worth noting that these comments from the future National Security Advisor come at a time when several Americans, including in Afghanistan, have been kidnapped and detained by terrorist groups from certain countries in the Middle East.
