Ashraf Ghani Condemns Pakistan’s Airstrikes in Barmal, Paktika!

by Hewad Press

Former President of Afghanistan, Ashraf Ghani, strongly condemned the brutal airstrikes carried out by Pakistan in the Barmal district of Paktika province, which claimed the lives of dozens, including women and children.

Ghani stated, “Our land has once again become a target of bombings, and our shared blood has been shed mercilessly.” He extended his condolences to the families of the martyrs and wished a swift recovery for the injured.

In his statement, Ghani condemned the continued political and military actions across both sides of the Durand Line, describing the line as a malicious legacy of British colonialism aimed at dividing a shared nation. He emphasized that the harsh policies of Pakistan’s leadership have deprived the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan of progress, drawing parallels with the treatment of East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) before its independence.

Ghani stressed the need for wisdom and reason to address the region’s challenges, asserting that issues cannot be resolved through violence but through peace and inclusive participation. He called on international organizations and regional leaders to collaborate for regional harmony and lasting peace.

In conclusion, Ashraf Ghani remarked, “The choice is in our hands: if we choose the path of bloodshed, we must also be ready to bear its consequences. However, if we choose the path of life, it requires unity, legitimate systems, and widespread public participation.”
