Pakistan Army spokesperson Sharif Chaudhry stated at a press conference today that if the Taliban in Afghanistan provide shelter to militants against Pakistan (TTP), Pakistan will continue to target them. He further emphasized that they expect the Taliban not to shelter such militants in Afghanistan and take serious measures in this regard, as the safety and lives of Pakistani citizens are of utmost importance to Pakistan, more than anything else in Afghanistan.
It is worth noting that although the Taliban in Afghanistan deny providing shelter to anti-Pakistan militants and consider the ongoing insecurity in Pakistan as an internal issue, Pakistan’s Prime Minister also accused the Kabul Taliban today of offering refuge to militants of the Pakistan Taliban (TTP). In such a situation, Pakistan is compelled to take serious steps to ensure its territorial security, as TTP represents a red line for Pakistan. We do not accept the Taliban maintaining our enemies while expecting good neighborly relations with us.
