The Pakistani military has stated that on December 28, anti-Pakistan militants, with the alleged support of the Afghan Taliban, attacked army posts across the Durand Line. The attack resulted in three soldiers being injured. In retaliation, Pakistani forces killed 15 militants, reportedly including members of the Afghan Taliban, and injured several others.
Meanwhile, the Taliban’s Ministry of Defense in Kabul issued a statement claiming to have conducted retaliatory strikes beyond the Durand Line against “malicious elements and their supporters.” However, it did not provide details about casualties.
The ongoing political tensions between Kabul and Islamabad have escalated following Pakistan’s airstrikes in Afghanistan’s Paktika province three days ago. The strikes, which Pakistan claimed targeted TTP militants, reportedly killed at least 70 people, most of whom were women and children, and injured many others.
