The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and Ukrainian Defense Forces have jointly claimed responsibility for heavy strikes on the strategic Engels Airbase and other industrial facilities in Russia’s Saratov region. These nighttime attacks reportedly targeted Russia’s ammunition depots and industrial sites.

According to reports, significant ammunition depots at Engels Airbase, containing FAB, KAB, and cruise missiles, suffered severe damage. The airbase holds strategic importance as it serves as a hub for Russia’s strategic bomber fleet.

Additionally, a chemical factory in the Tula region, vital for industrial production, was destroyed. The Saratov oil refinery was engulfed in a massive fire due to the strikes, with firefighting operations still underway. Meanwhile, a chemical production facility in the Bryansk region sustained heavy damage from direct missile strikes.

These attacks come at a time when both sides of the conflict are intensifying efforts to weaken each other’s military and industrial capacities. According to Ukrainian officials, the purpose of these strikes is to incapacitate Russia’s defense infrastructure.

Russian authorities have yet to issue an official response to these attacks. However, reports indicate significant human and material losses in the affected areas. Further details on the incident will be shared in subsequent updates.
