CHASIV YAR, UKRAINE – Once home to around 13,000 residents before Russia’s full-scale invasion, the city of Chasiv Yar now stands devastated by ongoing battles.
Fighters from the Donbas Battalion of the 18th Sloviansk Brigade, part of Ukraine’s National Guard, remain steadfast in their defense, repelling relentless Russian attacks on a daily basis.
Images released by Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs depict the grim reality of the frontline city, which has become a focal point in the war. Despite the destruction, Ukrainian forces continue to hold their ground in the strategic eastern region.
