President Donald J. Trump has revealed his plan for Gaza, proposing to relocate 1.9 million Gazans to safer communities outside the enclave while turning Gaza into a “real estate development” under his control.
Speaking with Fox News’ Bret Baier, Trump stated:
“We will build safe communities for 1.9 million Gazans, a little bit away from where they are, from all this danger. And in the meantime, I will own this place (Gaza)—think of it as a real estate development. In the future, it will be a beautiful piece of land.”
When asked whether Palestinians would have the right to return to Gaza, Trump firmly responded, “I would own it, they can’t return.” He further explained that under his plan, Palestinians would be relocated to up to six different sites outside Gaza, where they would be provided with “much better housing.”
“I am talking about building them permanent housing. I think I can make a deal with Jordan or Egypt because we are paying them billions and billions of dollars,” Trump added.
Trump’s proposal has already been firmly rejected by Arab nations, with Jordan, Egypt, and other regional powers expressing strong opposition to any forced relocation of Palestinians. Many see the plan as an attempt to displace Palestinians permanently while asserting foreign control over Gaza.
Regional analysts warn that Trump’s remarks could further inflame tensions in the Middle East, especially amid ongoing instability in Gaza following recent conflicts. Meanwhile, the Palestinian leadership has dismissed the plan outright, calling it an attempt to erase Palestinian identity and sovereignty.
The White House has not provided additional details on the plan or how it would be implemented, but opposition to the proposal is already mounting both regionally and internationally.
