Quetta, Balochistan —The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) protesters has announced a complete shutdown across Balochistan in response to what it calls an escalation of state violence in the region. The decision follows a deadly incident in Quetta, where Pakistani security forces allegedly opened fire on peaceful protesters, resulting in the deaths of three individuals and injuring dozens more, including seven in critical condition.

In a statement, BYC condemned the Pakistani state’s actions, accusing it of crossing all limits of oppression and brutality in Balochistan. The committee has called for a province-wide shutter-down and wheel-jam strike tomorrow to protest the killings.

Meanwhile, protesters continue their sit-in on Sariab Road alongside the bodies of those killed. BYC has urged the people of Quetta to join the demonstration and stand in solidarity against the ongoing violence.

The situation remains tense, with calls growing for accountability and justice.
