The World Bank halted disbursement of aid to money to Afghanistan after Taliban forcefully took power of the country on 15 August-2021.
The World Bank said on Tuesday that it had halted disbursements of aid money to Afghanistan as it assesses how the Taliban plan to rule the country.
A World Bank spokesperson told to media that the international development organization is “deeply concerned” about the situation in Afghanistan, hence, halted $800 million to the country in 2021. Likewise, last week the International Monetary Fund (IMF) frozen distribution of more than $400 million in emergency currency reserves that allocated to Afghanistan due to Taliban legitimacy of ruling the country.
