The United State Central Command confirmed a reaper drone strike against ISIS K planner in eastern Afghanistan today. “Initial indications are that we killed the target. We know of no civilian casualties,” Pentagon statement said.
After an ISIS K suicide bomber killed 13 U.S. service member and 72 Afghans, injured 15 U.S. service member and 160 Afghans, at Kabul Airport on Thursday, President Joe Biden vowed that United State would hunt down those responsible for the attack and will punish them for their crime.
A U.S. official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told to media that the strike was against an Islamic State militant planning future attack at the Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.
A reaper drone, which took off from the Middle East, struck the militant while he was in a car with an Islamic State associate, the official said. Both are believed to have been killed, the official added.
