Taliban arrest dozens of people in Mazar-e-Sharif who “wanted to go abroad”

Reports from Mazar-e-Sharif say the Taliban have detained dozens of people from a house.  According to  sources, the house was rented by the Americans and housed women activists and vulnerable people who were destined to be relocated.

A source, who did not want to be named, told media that 40 people, including 16 women had been detained by the Taliban in Mazar-e-Sharif.

A Taliban spokesman, Ahmadullah Wasiq, also confirmed that a number of people had been detained at the Mazari-Sharif, saying they wanted to go abroad but did not have travel documents.
