Reports from the southern Bannu region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa indicate that on the evening of November 19, a group of armed militants, accompanied by a suicide car bomb, attacked a Pakistani military base in the Mali Khel area of Bannu. The attack began with a suicide car bomb explosion at the base, followed by the militants storming the facility and engaging in a gunfight.
Preliminary, unofficial reports indicates that 11 soldiers were killed and many others injured in the attack. Although the Pakistani military has not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident, security sources have confirmed that approximately 30 to 35 soldiers were present at the base at the time of the attack.
It is to mention that security incidents have escalated in various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in recent days. Just yesterday, in the Tirah area of Khyber, eight commandos of the Pakistani military were killed in an attack by militants.
