Afghanistan: Unknown Gunmen Kill 10 Sufi Followers in Baghlan!

by Hewad Press

Reports indicate that in the northeastern province of Baghlan, Afghanistan, unknown gunmen killed 10 followers of the Sufi order on Thursday evening while they were engaged in prayer at the Shah-e-Padeshah Shrine Mosque in the Shahr-e-Kohna area of Nahrin district.

The spokesperson for the Taliban’s Ministry of Interior in Kabul, Abdul Matin Qane, confirmed the incident and told international media that the Taliban’s police command in Baghlan had detained several individuals in connection with the attack, who are now under investigation.

Although no group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far, Sufi followers have frequently been targeted by ISIS in Afghanistan and other countries. ISIS condemns certain Sufi practices, labeling them as innovations and deviations from Islam.
