The Stories of Oppression and Horrors from Sednaya Prison

by Hewad Press

Sednaya Prison, long a center of brutality and terror under the rule of the Assad regime in Syria, holds some of the most harrowing accounts of human rights violations. Yesterday, after the fall of the Assad regime, this infamous prison was finally dismantled.

The prison recorded thousands of cases of extrajudicial killings, sexual assaults, and brutal torture carried out by the Assad regime. Often referred to as a “Factory of Death,” Sednaya was notorious for holding individuals who opposed the regime.

The news channel TRT World has produced a documentary about this prison, reflecting the immense suffering of Syrian detainees and shedding light on their untold pain.
