First Batch of US-Made Abrams Tanks Arrives in Taiwan!

by Hewad Press

According to Taiwanese media reports, the first batch of M1A2T Abrams tanks, purchased by Taiwan from the United States, has arrived in the country. This batch includes 38 tanks.

The tanks have been delivered to the Port of Taipei and are scheduled to be transported to Hsinchu in the coming days, where they will be handed over to the military’s training center. Reports indicate that official training on these tanks will commence on January 29 of next year.

Experts suggest that the arrival of these advanced tanks will replace Taiwan’s aging M60A3 and CM11 tanks and marks a significant step in strengthening the country’s defense forces.

This development comes amid escalating tensions between Taiwan and China. In response to these tensions, Taiwan has been working to bolster its defense capabilities, with the acquisition of these Abrams tanks from the United States being a notable example.
