Former U.S. President Donald Trump stated in a recent remark that many Canadians want Canada to become the 51st state of the United States. He said, “Many Canadians want Canada to become the 51st State. They would save massively on taxes and military protection. I think it is a great idea. 51st State!!”
Trump also addressed U.S. aid to Canada in his statement, adding, “No one can answer why we subsidize Canada to the tune of over $100,000,000 a year? Makes no sense!!”
It’s worth noting that this is not the first time Trump has made such comments about Canada. Last week, he also humorously referred to Canada’s Prime Minister as a “governor” and called Canada “a great state.”
