Reports from Moscow, the capital of Russia, indicate that an attempt was made to assassinate Syria’s exiled President Bashar al-Assad using poison. However, his life was saved with the timely intervention of emergency medical services.
Sources state that the incident occurred while Assad was at his residence. He reportedly began coughing severely and experienced difficulty breathing, followed by intense abdominal pain. As his condition worsened, emergency medical services were called in, quickly arriving at the scene to administer initial treatment, which stabilized his condition.
Officials in Moscow have been informed about the incident, and an official investigation has been launched to determine the motive and the individuals behind the attempted poisoning. However, no official statements have been released by government authorities yet.
It is worth noting that Assad’s government was overthrown by Syrian rebels last month, and he has since sought refuge in Moscow.
