U.S. Elect President Donald Trump strongly criticized the sending of billions of dollars to Afghanistan under Taliban control during a press conference with reporters today. Responding to a reporter’s question, he said, “I am aware that billions of dollars in cash are being sent to the Taliban in Afghanistan , and this is unacceptable to me.”
He also mentioned the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, highlighting the military equipment and weapons left behind. Trump alleged that Biden left equipment, vehicles, and weapons worth $50 to $60 trillions for the Taliban during the chaotic pullout. He stated, “This was a massive loss, and such a move should never have been allowed.”
It is important to note that Trump’s remarks come at a time when Republican members of Congress have also sent letters urging an end to any form of U.S. assistance to the Taliban in Afghanistan.
