Trump Slams New York Times Coverage of Russia-Ukraine Peace Efforts, Criticizes Biden’s Handling of the War!

Washington, D.C. —Former President Donald Trump issued a scathing statement on Saturday, criticizing The New York Times and one of its senior writers, Peter Baker, over their coverage of his ongoing efforts to broker peace between Russia and Ukraine.

Trump argued that no matter how favorable any agreement he reaches might be, The New York Times would portray it negatively. He specifically singled out Peter Baker, labeling him a “very biased and untalented writer” who, according to Trump, has unfairly criticized his efforts while ignoring former President Barack Obama’s role in the 2014 annexation of Crimea by Russia.

“Even if it’s the greatest deal ever made, The Failing New York Times will speak badly of it,” Trump said. He added that Baker advocated unrealistic demands, including returning Crimea to Ukraine, to end what Trump described as “killing worse than anything since World War II.”

Trump also recalled that during his presidency, he provided Ukraine with Javelin anti-tank missiles, contrasting it with Obama’s administration, which he said only supplied “sheets” to Ukraine. He reaffirmed his belief that the ongoing conflict was a “loser from day one” and blamed the Biden administration for its escalation, stressing that the war would not have happened had he been president at the time.

“This is Sleepy Joe Biden’s War, not mine,” Trump stated. “I’m just trying to clean up the mess that was left to me by Obama and Biden.”

Trump also condemned recent Russian missile attacks on civilian areas, suggesting that President Vladimir Putin may not be genuinely seeking to end the war. He proposed that tougher financial measures, such as “banking” or “secondary sanctions,” might be necessary to deal with the situation.

“Too many people are dying,” Trump warned, as he emphasized the urgent need to bring the conflict to an end.

The U.S. president’s Trump remarks come as diplomatic efforts continue behind the scenes, with growing pressure for a negotiated settlement to the devastating conflict that has raged for over three years.
