In a news conference today, General Scott Miller, the chief commander of international security forces for Afghanistan threatened the Taliban that, if they or other terrorist groups attack the international forces during the withdrawal of all international forces from Afghanistan, they would respond strongly.
General Miller added that ′′ the only appropriate way forward is a political way towards peace. I met with Taliban members and their political representatives and told them that if they return to violence and chose to war, that will a tragedy for Afghans and Afghanistan.
General Miller also called on Taliban to cut ties with Al-Qaeda as well.
